Precautions for Water-based Steel Structure Paint: Winter construction temperature should not be lower than 5°C, optimal construction temperature should be above 10°C and relative humidity below 85%. Tools should be cleaned with water promptly after construction, leftover paint should be sealed and covered. This product should be stored in a cool, dry place, strictly protected from frost. Storage below 0°C is not recommended.

Product selection can be divided into three grades based on anti-rust effectiveness: light, medium, and heavy.

1) Light anti-rust: During coating, we usually choose a primer-topcoat integrated paint, no need for a separate primer. For example, water-based epoxy primer-topcoat integrated paint, water-based acrylic primer-topcoat integrated paint, etc. A single coating can provide anti-rust and decorative protection to the substrate. Additional coats can be applied as needed to increase film thickness and achieve the desired coating effect.

2) Medium anti-rust: During coating, we typically use a primer plus topcoat method, such as water-based epoxy primer or water-based alkyd anti-rust paint for priming, followed by a suitable anti-corrosion topcoat. It is important to ensure that the paint films between layers do not react with each other. Otherwise, if a reaction occurs, it may cause discoloration of the paint film in mild cases, or loss of anti-corrosion efficacy in severe cases.

3) Heavy anti-rust: The most commonly used is water-based inorganic zinc-rich primer, which has higher requirements for construction, thus requiring extra attention to construction details. Currently, its application scope is not as wide as light and medium anti-rust.
